At St. John’s (Hain’s), mission is an important part of our Ministry. Our Mission committee meets monthly to plan mission projects with the focus of helping others. By serving others we grow in our own faith while working together as disciples of Jesus Christ. Some of our past mission projects include, Helping Harvest Food Pantry, Veteran’s Hospital in Lebanon, PA., Hope Rescue Mission, Boys and Girls Club of Reading, Little Acts of Love, and others. As we add new mission projects, they will be posted here.
Plarn Mission Group
Members of Hain’s meet weekly on Fridays to Crochet mercy mats with plarn made from recycled plastic bags. The mats are donated to care for and comfort the homeless people in Philadelphia.
Members and friends of Hain’s from partnering churches form the Western Berks Shepherding Ministries to provide services to our clients in need of transportation to medical appointments, for groceries, etc. We also support this mission through fundraising events to offset operating expenses.
